The Last 2 Years: June 2013

*Black Hills Mud Run (Sturgis).  People think you are a pretty tough chick when you do a 5k in the mud with obstacles when you are 24 weeks pregnant:

Dawn Williams, Carolyn and Alison Hesterman (also pregnant)

It’s embarrassing to say but we hadn’t been to the Petersen’s home in Salem for three years before now.  WE saw them a lot but it was because they came to our house or because they came up to Spokane when we were in town there.  It was finally time to make the trip, so we packed up the kids and drove over.  We had a great visit seeing the favorites (beach, Tillamook Cheese Factory, and Riverfront Park) and then going to something new (Portland Zoo and Kelowna Campground).

*Riverfront Park at Salem, OR:

Dana is the Facilities Supervisor for the LDS church for the Salem area.  The church had just purchased a camping facility that we went to check out before a day of service by a neighboring stake.  Ainsley and I were able to get some cabin camping in while Aaron and the big kids were tent camping for Alex's Webelos requirements.

*Camp Kilowan, OR:

not a bad picture considering it was night and totally dark.  kids were told to look up and smile on "3"

*Portland Zoo at Portland, OR:

We headed north next and spent an evening and night with Nathan and Leaa.  We love our Air Force adventure but it’s hard to be away from our families that we love so much!

We left Portland and headed back to Rapid City, stopping for 2 nights in Spokane.  We got to meet our newest cousin Capri and swim in Grandma and Papa’s hot tub.

We do a lot of driving.  A LOT!  We pride ourselves in seeing America by road (because flying is so expensive with all of us) and actually stopping and seeing it.  This stop took a little convincing because we already had such a long drive ahead of us but it was TOTALLY worth it. One of the best caves I’ve ever been to (and you know from previous posts that I’ve been to a few recently)

*Lewis and Clark Caverns (Bozeman, MT):

*Canyon Lake with the Robinsons with the Robinson Wedding Canoe.  It was built by Bishop Robinson and finished the night of their wedding as a wedding gift to Christy:
